Neurodiversity in the Workplace: Celebrating our Cognitive Differences

Hosted by: City Hive
Date: 17th October 2024
Time: 1pm

1 in 5 of us display different ways of thinking, finding expression in Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Autism, ADHD and Dyspraxia. Research states that over 40% of millionaires are Dyslexic (1) and that the characteristics of ADHD are positively connected to both entrepreneurship and the initiation of business ventures (2).

Neurodiversity and our naturally occurring cognitive differences have always existed. Yet when it comes to our understanding of what these terms mean, and the widespread embracing of our cognitive differences, we are still in the learning phase. Yet there is strength in our differences, strength that we can harness to empower ourselves, and others around us to embrace cognitive differences.

For the final session in a two-part series, City Hive talks with Dr Tony Lloyd, CEO of the ADHD Foundation Neurodiversity Charity. The session is aimed at individuals of all levels who wish to engage in a discussion around neurodiversity.

We expect to cover:

• What is Neurodiversity and what are the key strengths of each neurotype?

• Supporting work colleagues, family and friends.

• The workplace of the future – customised for the individual.

The session is designed to reinforce that there is power in cognitive difference and leave attendees with a greater understanding of our cognitive profiles. Attendees will also explore how to advocate for us, colleagues, or even friends and family.

Aimed at: For this session, we welcome all professionals interested in learning more about Neurodiversity and the ADHD Foundation, as well as the benefits of supporting and promoting a cognitively diverse workplace culture.

Please submit any pre-questions to HQ@Cityhive.co.uk with the subject ADHD Foundation session 2.
